The Series II - Part I & II depicts the richness hues of autumn in the vineyard. The grapes are of dark hues of red and purple with gold highlights giving a feeling of ripeness as they were to be harvested at this same moment that we look at the painting. The circles and the swirls give a sense of harmonious movements through out the painting. The pattern of the grapes at different intervals gives a feel of rhythm and dynamism. The character of these paintings is also defined by the mosaic effect inspired by Byzantine art. It is truly a romantic vision of a vineyard from the artist childhood countryside holidays.
